Posted on 02/13/09

Hey Aikido Club

Couple quick announcements:

-Next Friday, February 20th, after practice the aikido club will be treating anyone who wants to come to pizza at Giordanos. Free pizza! So, just stick around after practice and we'll all head over together.

-Also Next weekend, on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd, is Kangeiko, or winter training. Kangeiko is a seminar at our parent dojo (Shinjinkai) downtown. The seminar will be instructed by Meido Moore Sensei (chief instructor of Shinjinkai) and Lisa Tomoleoni Sensei (a direct student of the Doshu). Seminars are a great opportunity to get to train with lots of different aikidoka. Interested members should follow the below link for registration and more information. Anyone planning to attend, should also let me know so we can arrange going down together.

Last Winter Quarter Training Day - TOMORROW!

Posted on 03/16/10

Hello everyone!

I'm going to keep this brief so you can get back to studying for your finals (or packing to go home)!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the last day of training for the winter quarter. We resume training here at NU on Monday March 29; but, you'll get a reminder about that when we get closer to the date.

It would be great to see as many of you as possible before heading off to spring break. We may even take a group photo and you wouldn't want to miss that!

Anyway, good luck on your finals! Have a relaxing spring break. The new quarter will be a fresh new beginning for some new members as much as it will be a continuation on your training!

See you tomorrow!

-Alex

Kangeiko and Mat Cleaning

Posted on 02/21/10

Hey all, I have a few announcements for some coming events this week.

Winter Training: Saturday and Sunday, February 27-28

There will be winter training at Shinjinkai this coming weekend. This is an excellent opportunity for intensive training and all are encouraged to go!

An on-line registration form and schedule of events can be found here. The registration fee is $70.

There is a packed agenda (see the schedule here) and there will be a group dinner after training on Saturday; so, this is another great opportunity to get to know not only your fellow club-mates but also the new friends you meet during training.

If you have any interest in training this weekend, please e-mail me. If the fee is an issue for some, please let an officer know and we will see what we can do about subsidy.

Travel arrangements will be made in the coming week.

Please consider this excellent, local opportunity to improve yourself and to train at Shinjinkai!

Mat repair/cleaning
This Wednesday after class, we will be cleaning our dirty mats and repairing those that require it.

Please try to make the time to help mend/clean the surface we all train on!

See you there!
